Psychology of Dreams
Dreams……. as we usually experience in our daily life. Maximum, there is no one in the world who don’t know about dreams. Dreams are ways in which our subconscious mind communities with us. In order to understand this, we have to first know about subconscious mind.

WHAT IS SUBCONSCIOUS MIND?
                              In simple words, subconscious mind is nothing but without our control or absence of consciousness.
 Let us see, what psychology says about dreams………
              Dreams are thoughts, emotions and images shaped by them which are encountered when asleep
* One can experience dreams during rapid eye movement sleep (REM)
* Dreams are closely associated with human psychology.
     ” Research says that during an average lifespan, a human being spends about six years in dreaming, which is around two hours every night.”
                  Actually, the dreams are hidden desires, thoughts and expressions of a person that they fail to express in conscious mind, but these feelings are noted by subconscious mind and t expresses in the form of dreams.
               In order to know about dreams, here are 10 interesting facts about dreams which we have no idea about it. Let us know:
1. “EVERYBODY DREAMS” 
                                 As we know, adults, babies everybody get dreams. According to psychology, all people dream about “two hours per night”. As here may arise one doubt, as some times we know that, we not only experiences one dream, but we can experience more than one dream per night. According to that, each dream typically lasts for between “5 to 20” minutes.
2.“YOU FORGET MOST OF YOUR DREAMS”
This is most common thing we experience in dreams. As we see good or bad dream during night but we used to forget it on next morning, why?
                                 This is because, according to theory, there is one part called “hippocampus” present in our brain stores all memories. It is inactive during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep which is main reason for dreaming.
3. “NOT ALL DREAMS ARE IN COLOR”
                        While most of the people say that their dreams are in color. There are only few people say that they experienced dreams in black and white. This was made as an experiment by psychologists, they shown some colors to the person and made him sleep. After that, they observed that he experienced dreams in same colors.
4. “MEN AND WOMEN DREAM DIFFERENTLY”
                      Researches have found some differences between men and women about dreaming. In several studies, men reported dreaming weapons significantly more often than women did, while women dreamed about references to clothing more often than men.

NOTE: This is according to research, there is no compulsory statement for men and women about exact dreams like this.
 5. “ANIMALS PROBABLY DREAM”
                          This is very strange and unknown. Did your pet dream?
Think about this. As we observe in our daily life, our pets or dogs while sleeping, they wags its tail or move legs suddenly that means they are dreaming. This can bee said that like humans, animals also include cycles of REM and non-REM  sleep.

6.“IT IS POSSIBLE TO CONTROL OUR DREAMS”
In order to know about this firstly, we should know about “lucid dream”.
WHAT IS LUCID DREAM?
                                  A lucid dream is one in which you are in a combination state of both consciousness and REM seep that means you can control or direct the dream content.
7. “NEGATIVE EMOTIONS ARE MORE COMMON”
                    As  Researches have done many researches on dreams, Sir calvin S. Hall, Ph D collected  over 50,000 dreams accounts from college students.
                        The dreams accounts revealed that many dreams are emotions, anxiety, stressful dreams that means most dreams are negative.
  8. “BLIND PEOPLE MAY DREAM VISUALLY”
                  In one study, people who have been blind since birth, researchers found that they still seemed to experience visual images in their dreams.
            This is because the blind people too experience REM sleep but their eye movements are very less when compared to normal people but they can experience visual images in their dream.
9. “YOU ARE PARALYZED DURING YOUR DREAMS”
                          REM sleep is characterized by paralysis of voluntary muscles. This phenomenon is known as “REM atonia” and prevents us from acting out during dreams.
10. “MANY DREAMS ARE UNIVERSAL”
                     As this is common thing that people all over the world frequently dreams. As like us, people in other countries also experiences dreams based upon their mental stages.
WHAT DO DREAMS REVEAL YOUR PERSONALITY?
 * Some may experience dreaming about that they have fly into the sky like a bird, that means the person has a creative mind. He/She wants to quit their routine life and want to think about something new in their life.
* Some people experience dreaming about that they are falling from a building or height. That means, the person has no support in his/her life and in very depressed condition.
* Some dreams about exams, this is most common in students, that they dream about they had failed in exam or absent for the exam, this reveals the person’s fear about the exams.
