NON- PHARMACOLOGICAL THERAPY OF ANEMIA

INTRODUCTION:
What is Anaemia?
         Anaemia is a condition where your body is low on red blood cells. There  many types of anaemia but the most common one is caused due to deficiency of iron in the body. the bone marrow requires iron to produce haemoglobin. in  pregnant women, iron deficiency anaemia can cause serious complication while in children it can affect their language and motor skills.
          As per world health  organisation guidelines, men who have 13 grams of haemoglobin per deciliter are anaemic and the same goes for women who have ,<12 grams of haemoglobin are called anaemic. To treat anaemia, you should include more iron rich foods in  your diet there are many home remedies for anaemia.
 
HOME REMEDIES USED FOR ANAEMIA:
INCREASE VITAMIN ‘C’ INTAKE: Anaemia tends to weakened your immune system and thus, will may be more prone to infections and inflammatory diseases. adequate doses of vitamin c can help fortify you from within under the same time it also helps in the absorption of iron. dote on oranges or you can even have a glass of lemon water every day. vitamin c such as oranges, red pepper and strawberries may increase iron absorption. some greens are good sources of both iron and vitamin c, such as collard greens and swiss chard.
EGG YOLK WITH TURMERIC: Those  suffering from kapha type anaemia should have a cup of egg yolk twice a day, morning and  afternoon, with a tea spoon of turmeric. in kapha type anaemia a person may experience swelling and the skin turns cold and clammy. this remedy helps in balancing the kapha dosha in the body. 

 

GREENY VEGETABLES: The high amounts of chlorophyll contain in green vegetables like spinach, celery, mustard greens and broccoli is a good source of iron. keep in mind that is best to have cooked spinach as raw the leaves contain oxalic acid it may prevent the absorption iron in the body.

BEET ROOT OR POMEGRANATE JUICE: Afresh beetroot or pomegranate juice act as great blood builders and also blood purifiers. beet roots are rich in folic acid you can team them up with apples are carrot. pomegranates and the other hand, a rich in iron and also other minerals like copper and potassium both these juices, if had regularly, can boost your energy level by supporting healthy blood flow and make you feel more active.
 
COPPER WATER: Copper water is consider very healthy in water stored in copper vessel over night every morning. this helps in replenishing your body with natural minerals and is also known to be very good for treating hair loss.
 
SESAME SEEDS: Eating sesame seeds is another great way of increasing your iron intake, especially black sesame seeds. you can soak the sesame seeds in some water for 2-3 hours and then grind them into a paste. have this with a tea spoon of honey every day.
 
RAISINS AND DATES: These dried fruits offer a combination of iron and vitamin c. these enables the body to  quickly and effectively absorb the iron from them. eat a hand full of dry seeds and 1 or 2 dates for breakfast or as a mid meal snack. they are also known to give instant energy.

MEAT AND POULTRY: All meat and poultry  contains haeme, iron. red meat, lamb, and venison are the best sources. poultry and chicken lower amounts. eating meat are poultry with non  haeme iron foods, such as leafy greens, can increase absorption.

LIVER: Many people shy away from meats, but they are a great source of iron. liver is arguably the most popular organ meat. its rich in iron and folate some other iron rich organ meats are heart, kidney, and beaf tongue.
 
SEA FOODS: some sea foods provides  heame iron. selfish such as oysters, clams and shrimp are good sources most fish contain iron, fish high in iron include sardines, canned in oil, canned or fresh tun, fresh salmon, fresh halibut, fresh perch, fresh haddock although both fresh and canned salmon are good source of iron, candid salmon is high in calcium is stop calcium binds with iron and reduces iron foods high in calcium should not be eaten at same  time as iron rich food. examples of calcium rich foods like cheese and raw milk.
 
BEANS: Beans are good source of iron for vegetarians and meat eaters like. they are also expensive and versatile. some iron rich are kidney beans, chick peas, soya beans, black eyed peas, pinto beans, black beans, peas, lima beans.
 
NUTS AND SEEDS: Many types of nuts and seeds are good source of iron. they taste great on their own or sprinkled on salads or a goat. when choosing nuts and seeds, choose raw varieties and never possible, some nuts and seeds thM. Keerthiat contain iron or pumpkin seeds, causes pista chios ,hemp seeds, pine nuts, sun flower seeds, almonds are also good source of iron.
